Checkmaker™ Gas Check Forming Dies for Large Caliber Handguns and Rifles

Making gas checks for large bores….

When it comes to gas checks for 50 caliber rifle and pistol, 500 Smith and Wesson, .480 cal etc., there’s no need to buy expensive gas checks or use expensive thick metals, for gas check shank molds.

I’ve purposely designed Checkmaker™ dies to make gas checks for these calibers with .014″ thick metal, and Amerimax .014 aluminum makes great accurate gas checks for pennies, for these big bore hog legs, and rifles.

You have to either open up the shank of your mold, or have a new mold made with a gas check shank as follows:

.500 Pistol needs a .473″ gas check shank.

.510 Rifle diameter needs a .480″ as cast gas check shank.

.512 Rifle diameter needs a .482″ as cast gas check shank.

This will leave plenty to size down to your final lube and sized diameter.

Here’s a set I made for member Stan for his 505 Gibbs which casts a boolit at about .510 diameter, and a .480 shank.
